A tale of love, lust, intrigue and murder

TOSCA is a tale of love, lust, intrigue and murder. Set in Rome in a period of Italian history when Napoleon’s invading army was greeted by Italian patriots as their liberator from oppressive Austrian rule, Puccinni’s TOSCA is a combination of rare beauty and high emotion.

Floria Tosca, a beautiful, celebrated singer and passionate woman is caught at the very centre of political intrigue. Tosca falls victim to the manipulations of the treacherous Scarpio and unwittingly ruins her lover - with spectacular consequences.

THE MIKHAILOVSKY OPERA of St Petersburg performs this traditional epic as the composer intended, with spectacular traditional sets and world class performances in Italian with English surtitles.

Joining them in the starring role is internationally renowned Irish soprano CELINE BYRNE* accompanied by The RTÉ NATIONAL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA in a truly joint Irish / Russian collaboration.

Guaranteed to be a wonderful evening for opera fans and those just looking forward to an inspiring experience!

*CELINE BYRNE will be performing Wednesday 14, Friday 16 and Sunday 18 March, and The Russian star Maria Litke will perform the role on Thursday 15 and Saturday 17 March.
